How To Start Losing Weight Now

Losing weight is never easy, it’s like a roller coaster ride. Some days you wake up at 6 am in the morning feeling motivated to hit the gym and other days you would cave in and eat a tub of ice cream while watching your favorite tv shows. It’s a vicious cycle and a constant battle within yourself, and at the end of the day the ones with a strong willpower will be the winner.
A common misconception is that exercise is the solution to losing weight. I used to be that person. I eat anything that I like while thinking I can just burn off the fat by exercising for 2- 3hours. Did it work for me? No. I didn’t’ lose even 100 grams in a week. I found out that the key to a succesful weight loss is maintaining a healthy and balanced diet, having enough sleep , drinking plenty of water, and no stress. People feel that in order to be healthy they need to lose weight. When in reality, as we live a healthy life and have a healthy mind the weight would naturally come off.
Here are some of the diet that you could try to kickstart your weight loss journey
- Intermittent fasting. It’s when you fast for 16 – 20 hours and only have eating window of 4-8 hours. Fasting supposedly increases human growth hormone levels and decreases insulin levels, it initiates important repair processes of your cells. By eating only during the eating period, you’re reducing your caloric intake.
- Paleo diet. This diet eliminates high – fat and processed food, and refined sugar. This diet plan emphasizes on eating natural and nutrent densed food such as vegetables and fruits.
- Ketogenic diet. This diet involves eating low carb and high fat foods. The aim is to put your body into a ketosis state in which it starts taking fat as energy source from our body.
Everyone is built differently, what works for me might not work for you, and vice versa. But It never hurts to try.
